The Welsh Pharmacy Board ‘hooked up’ with one of Wales’s best known rugby internationals in a campaign to encourage more men to visit their local pharmacy to seek medical advice.
The campaign, launched by James Hook and Welsh Board representative, Elen Jones, at Cardiff Arms Park on 17 November, urged men to take advantage of the services that are offered by their local pharmacy.
The Welsh Pharmacy Board called for the role of pharmacists to be fully considered in the development of the Public Health Strategic Framework for Wales.
The Welsh Pharmacy Board Annual Dinner, held at the Park House Club on 19 June 2008, provided an ideal opportunity to raise the profile of the public health role of pharmacists. The guest of honour, Dr Tony Jewell, Chief Medical Officer for Wales said he recognised the role that pharmacists are already playing and looks forward to building upon this success as the public health agenda moves forward in the new NHS in Wales.
