The only school of pharmacy in Wales is based in Cardiff University. The school is located in the Redwood Building, King Edward VII Avenue. It provides undergraduate training for pharmacy students, leading to an RPSGB-recognised MPharm degree. It also offers postgraduate diplomas on a part time basis in clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy and clinical research.
The school was rated '5' in the 2001 Research Association exercise and has achieved an 'Excellence in Teaching' grade by the Higher Education Funding Council in Wales.
It also houses the Welsh Centre for Post-Graduate Pharmaceutical Education (WCPPE) which is an NAfW funded body providing a full range of educational opportunities for the pharmacy family in Wales. Its remit extends to all pharmacists associated with the NHS in Wales as well as qualified support staff.

The Society's continuing professional development (CPD) programme is being rolled out to pharmacists in Wales by July 2003. This will enable pharmacists to demonstrate to employers, the NHS and patients that they are maintaining and building on their capabilities.
