The Society produces a large amount of quality information on all different aspects of pharmacy. Whether you are looking for audit templates, guidance on practice matters, information on legal and ethical issues, pharmacist prescribing or reports on pharmacy practice, education, workforce research, science or clinical governance, the Society's website will have some authoritative resources for you.

RPSGB Library catalogue

Library catalogue
About: listed here are not only books, CD-ROMs and videos held in the Library, but also websites and pdfs of complete publications that can be accessed immediately for free.
Use it to: identify resources (both print and online) that you need for work or CPD; reserve items for posting out to you and renew your loans.
How: the catalogue is freely available for everyone to search. You can reserve books and renew your loans using the catalogue only if you have registered with the Library.

Practice guidance
About: guidance on many aspects of pharmacy practice produced by the Society’s Practice Division.
Use it to: establish best practice in your workplace and to keep up-to-date with developments in pharmacy practice.

Information Pharmacists
About: qualified information pharmacists can help answer scientific and technical questions from members from any branch of pharmacy about most aspects of their day-to-day work or for special projects being undertaken, including continuing education. The aim is to provide a rapid and normally instantaneous reply wherever possible.
Use it to: see contact details and answers to some frequently asked questions. Also access "Pharmacy information pointers" a series of articles prepared by the Society’s Information Centre for The Pharmaceutical Journal, highlighting topics of interest and enquiries currently being handled.

Library - Ask us a question
About: qualified information professionals in the Library welcome any enquiry regarding any matter, and we are particularly experienced in providing support for continued professional development (CPD); locating information resources whether in book, journal or web form; recommending the best texts for subjects of interest to you; carrying out literature searches for non-clinical subjects (our colleagues, the Information Pharmacists, are best placed to help you for clinical subjects); providing contact information for other pharmacy organisations and facilitating access to our wide range of pharmacy-related reference works, for example our pharmacopoeia and proprietary book collection.
Use it to: see the growing list of factsheets; topics currently include MURs and CPD.

Law and Ethics factsheets
About: the Society’s Legal and Ethical Advisory Service can give advice on such subjects as legislation relating to Controlled Drugs in pharmacy, use of unlicensed medicines, setting up a collection and delivery service, and supplies by pharmacists to midwives, paramedics and others. The factsheets cover areas of practice which are frequently the subject of queries.
Use it to: find advice on the law as it relates to many areas of pharmacy practice.

Audit templates
About: the Society’s Practice and Quality Improvement directorate produces Audit templates that help pharmacists measure the quality of their pharmaceutical service and to make improvements when necessary.
Use it to: gain a more detailed picture of a specific area of your practice to help you make a judgement about the quality of your work and potential areas for further development.

Other Society publications
About: The Society produces a large number of publications, the majority of which are listed here. If you are unable to find the document you require, contact the Library for assistance.
Use it to: locate publications discussed in The Pharmaceutical Journal or in Society press releases, or to see the output of the Society’s different departments.
